Sometimes we plan grand adventures complete with packed itineraries and events. Other times, we simply need a change of scenery. That is what happened when I booked a stay at Delta Hotels Victoria Ocean Point Resort, where a city break turned into moments of quiet pause and reflection. Hotel aficionados know that location is everything. The Ocean Pointe has to be in one of the best parts of the city, situated on Victoria's lovely waterfront and a short walk from the historic city centre. Arguably the best part of my stay was the ocean view and daily strolls along the water. Sitting upon a busy port, I had the pleasure of watching water taxis, seaplanes and ferries glide by all day long. I even spotted some early morning wildlife including a wandering deer and rabbits.  At night, the quaint yet impressive skyline lit up with landmarks such as the Empress and parliament in sight.
