On my very first trip to Victoria, British Columbia's pretty and bustling capital city, I stopped into La Roux Patisserie searching for cortados and pastries. This sweet bakery came highly recommended online, so I felt confident in my choice. In fact, I made more than one trip during my stay. Located near the popular Fan Tan Alley, La Roux stands out with a Parisian like decorum. The shopfront catches the eye with a stylish purple exterior and bistro seating. As I walked in the door, my eyes wandered to the checkered floors, vintage furniture and a sparkly chandelier. The display case was brimming with gorgeous treats-tarts, muffins and macarons, of course. I have to say, the eclairs looked like little works of art.
