25 THINGS TO DO IN LONDON DURING FALL
When I first started my blog, I posted 25 things to do in London during Christmas. This is one of my favourite posts to date so I thought, why not do one for autumn? I often struggle to choose my favourite months in London, especially because I have a lot of great summer memories. But, there is no doubt that fall and winter are my favourite seasons there. As we say goodbye to summer, here are 25 things to do in London during fall:
1. Enjoy the leafy parks. I found Regents Park and Hyde Park to be particularly beautiful this time of year.
2. Go for a walk along the Westminster Bridge and soak up the crisp, blue skies and classic views.
3. Stroll the markets for seasonal food and desserts. Cozy market season has officially commenced.
4. Make an effort to wake up a bit earlier, because fall mornings in London can make anyone a morning person.
5. Hit up the high-streets and shop for a new fall wardrobe. Tis the season for coats, jackets and boots.
6. Take a day trip to a lovely city such as Bath or Oxford.
7. Spend an evening wandering Waterstones, a multi-level bookstore located on Piccadilly.
8. Watch the fireworks on Guy Fawkes Day, a British holiday also known as Bonfire Night.
9. Visit one of London's countless coffee shops for fall themed lattes.
10. Go and see 'Phantom of the Opera' at His Majesty's Theatre. I seen it in October and it is the perfect month for this mysterious musical.
11. Journey to the end of the District Line to Richmond and enjoy the village-esque feel. You may even see some deer roaming.
12. Visit the London Dungeon, an attraction located on South Bank that takes visitors on a scary but fun journey through London's darker history.
13. Visit the Tower of London. Even though it looks magical from the outside, real ones know it has a chilling past. It is also believed to be haunted. Take a tour if you are brave or love history.
14. Go to a flower market and pick an autumnal bouquet for yourself.
15. Spend an afternoon in the City of London and explore some of the oldest streets in town. I recommend starting at Liverpool Street Station and go from there. I really love this part of the city. It is often quiet on the weekends and underrated.
16. Visit the fall exhibitions at one of London's many museums.
17. London gets dark surprisingly quickly, so take advantage of dusk on the London Eye and beyond.
18. Visit the Clink Prison Museum located in Southwark. This is one of England's oldest and most notorious prisons. Yikes!
19. Visit a bakery for Halloween themed treats that are definitely more cute than scary.
20. Have a glass of wine in a cozy pub.
21. Walk as often as possible through London's neighbourhoods. Some of my fall favourites are Kensington, Notting Hill and Holland Park.
22. I have one word for you: doors. Whether it's a pile of pumpkins by the stairs or crunched up leaves along the gates, all of London's entranceways are extra photogenic this time of year.
23. Visit the Kynance Mews in South Kensington. Just, trust me on that one.
24. In America, football is a fall favourite, so why not in London too? The other kind of football that is. I think fall is the perfect time for a match.
25. Enjoy the buildup for London's holiday season. The anticipation is real.
