PARK HOTEL TOKYO

Finding the right accommodation is crucial for a memorable trip. Choosing a hotel for my first visit to Tokyo seemed overwhelming at first but eventually came down to great location and comfort. The Park Hotel Tokyo had highly positive reviews and was in a modern, convenient area of the city. Situated inside the Shiodome Media Tower guests are surrounded by impressive city views, metro stations, restaurants and shops.

As soon you enter the lobby you are greeted by not only gracious staff but a striking view of Tokyo Tower. You can also see Mount Fuji in the distance on a clear day. Many guests will request this specific view but I am certain most rooms provide great scenery. After a smooth check in I took the elevator up to my room. The hotel is very attractive with beautiful art displayed. My room was spotless, charming and had all amenities. It felt so refreshing to have a hot bath and make a coffee after my long flight. I enjoyed my 'drip on' coffee packets daily! Waking up to the sights of Tokyo was of course my favourite part.

Before starting my day I enjoyed a fabulous buffet breakfast in the ART Lounge. In addition to dining you can also have access to a gym and spa. The staff and concierge were always very courteous any time I had questions. This makes sense since this hotel bases itself on traditional Japanese hospitality. They were happy to give me directions or help in any way. This hotel is only a few minutes away from Shimbashi Station and situated close to tourist hot spots like Ginza and Odaiba. This was a great base for exploring Tokyo and I felt very comfortable in the surrounding area. At times it was very quiet here which was a nice contrast to Tokyo's energetic spirit.

The stylish atmosphere, warm reception and cozy rooms made Park Hotel Tokyo feel like a home away from home. As a newcomer to this city it definitely left a lasting impression and I would highly recommend it.

TIP: To get here from Narita Airport I took the Skyliner train to Nippori station. I then transferred to the JR Yamonote train line to arrive at Shimbashi Station. I found this a very convenient and decently priced way to get to Tokyo from the airport in a timely fashion!
