LONDON 2025 HIGHLIGHTS PART 1

May is a beautiful time of year, especially in London. The idyllic temperatures and blooming sidewalks are only a handful of reasons to visit. On this particular trip, I was reintroduced to Elizabeth Street, an old favourite.

Elizabeth Street is one of the most gorgeous streets in the city and amazingly looked over by travelers. It is caught between  some of London's most glamourous boroughs in the lovely Belgravia district. I discovered it as a wandering expat and enjoyed making a trip back there this spring. With a nice blend of tourists and locals, but usually the latter, it is brimming with pretty shops and foodie delights. Elizabeth Street is the definition of understated elegance. Despite being a stone's throw from attractions such as Buckingham Palace, it remains secretive and does not call attention upon itself.

Perhaps what Belgravia is best known for, is the adored Peggy Porschen bakery. It has been called the prettiest bakery in the world and visitors love posing at the famous floral door. This beloved archway is never not filled with flowers or other eye-catching decor. In the autumn and winter months, it becomes even more adorable if you can imagine that. The afternoon tea, cakes and cookies look delicious but almost too cute to eat. Sad thing is, I have never actually been inside this bakery. Wow, I can't believe I just admitted that out loud.

One of the most popular events in London is the Chelsea Flower Show. Taking place in May, people from all over the world come to admire the most stunning flower exhibitions. Unfortunately, I did not attend. But Belgravia has quite a blossoming reputation itself. Whether it be a luxury florist or botanical window display, trust me when I say there is no shortage of flowers here. But speaking of Chelsea, Sloane Square is only a few minutes away, so you might as well go there too if you are in the neighbourhood.

One more reason I love Elizabeth Street, is because it is neighbouring to Victoria, which was my first official home in London. I never knew this chic street existed until then, and that is why I still consider it a hidden gem.

As we approach the holiday season, and flowery facades are replaced with cozy pubs and draping lights, I highly recommend a visit here.
